Donavan Lurrie

(Senior Pastor, Crown Lane, Bartle, Preston, Lancashire)

Donavan LurrieMy name is Donavan Lurrie and I am originally from Harare, Zimbabwe. I count being brought up in a Christian family along with my two sisters and two brothers a real privilege. But I'm even more thankful for the day that I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Saviour.

As a teenager I enjoyed playing sports at a competitive level, serving in the leadership of the Zimbabwe Association of Baptist Youth and leading a vibrant Youth Fellowship in my home church. When I left school I trained and worked as an electrical technician and when time permitted got involved in missions with African Enterprises. In 1997 I heard and obeyed the call of God to full time service. This led me to Bible College in Scotland where God did a deeper work in my heart and gave me a real burden and clear direction to minister here in the UK.

After leaving college I joined The Faith Mission where I served for 9 years as a roving evangelist in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and then as area worker in Cumbria. In September 2007 I took up the role of Pastor at Crown Lane Free Methodist Church and was ordained in 2008.

I enjoy serving the Lord and desire to see the transforming power of the Gospel at work in the Church and for God's people to grow in their walk and work for the Lord.

1Thess 5:24 The one who calls you is faithful and He will do it.
