( Pastor, Light 'n' Life Tabernacle, Dungannon, Northern Ireland)
Hi, my name is Raul Arana Perez. I was born in Gran Canaria (Spain) in July 1975 into a devout Catholic family. There was not much of the gospel in our family until my dad came to knowledge of Jesus Christ. One year later my mum also came to faith in Christ.
I was then brought to the church. I loved all the Biblical stories especially the miracles of Jesus and the life of the Apostle Paul. I thought I was alright until one Sunday night, when I was about 9, I was challenged with the reality of eternity without Christ. There was one question; “where would you go if you were to die tonight?” That question cut right through me and for the first time ever I saw and understood my need of Jesus as Saviour. I realised I was a sinner in need of forgiveness, I came to Christ that night, and today without hesitation I can definitely say it has been the best decision I have ever made.
I love the Lord and His word and in my youth I surrendered all to Him. He gave me a passion and love for people and a desire for His Church. After I married Abi, we moved to Northern Ireland, where we first came in contact with the Free Methodist Church and fell in love with it; we then knew this was where God wanted us to serve Him. We went to Bible College and there the Lord began to work in our hearts toward pastoral ministry. After graduating from College we went to Light `n` Life Tabernacle Dundonald where the Lord did a tremendous work in us through Pastor Pat Herron; there the Lord confirmed and refined His call on us for pastoral ministry.
Our passion is to see the lost reached for Christ, to go into the dark places and bring the light of Christ to those who are blind. We are committed to see the people of God reach their potential in Christ and fulfill their destiny in God, to see the church of Christ fired up for Him and walking in revival. We praise the Lord that He allows people like us to serve Him in such a capacity as this; we believe the Lord has brought us to His Kingdom for such a time as this.
