Lytham St Anne’s Free Methodist Church

Are looking to appoint a missionary                                                                November 2017

We are looking for someone who will join a team of people to bring the hope of Jesus Christ to our community.  Alongside the established leaders, you would be responsible for pastoral duties within the community – making friends with our neighbours, making disciples and mentoring new Christians.  You would also spend time developing the activities that take place within the church building, including services on Sundays, mid-week prayer and Bible Study and creating new and better ways for the church to show God’s love to the community. 

You would be based in our community in Lytham St Anne’s, Lancashire and you would be expected to live within the community.

You will be someone who can show evidence that you:

  • love God and other people,
  • have a servant heart,
  • have a heart for the poor and disenfranchised,
  • have attained at least a B.A. in Theology from a reputable university,
  • are Wesleyan in Theology,
  • are a member of a Free Methodist Church and/or are willing to adopt the lifestyle and expectations of a Free Methodist minister as stated in the Book of Discipline of the Free Methodist Church,
  • can work well as part of a team,
  • respect the role of women in the leadership of the local church
  • are able to communicate with people in preaching and teaching/small groups/one to one.
  • believe that every life matters to God, regardless of intellectual ability or status in life.

We would like to make an appointment in 2017 for a 2018 start.  The appointment would be for a maximum of 2 years in the first instance, it would include a probation period and would be subject to regular reviews. 

No appointment will be made without enhanced DBS criminal records clearance.

Salary – £12,000.   Accommodation provided.

Worship Album released by Mount Zion Free Methodist Church, Lisburn

Mark Ferguson, worship director at Mount Zion Free Methodist Church, Lisburn, Northern Ireland, has just released his third album of worship music, his first since worshipping at Mount Zion Free Methodist Church.  

His worship is inspired by his deep sense of God’s Presence through the experience of having a disabled daughter, who still remains without a diagnosis and possible treatment.

The song; My Child,  is specially dedicated to Ann-Lily. There are songs about healing and trusting God / praising God in difficult times.
